Traveling early October. I know we can take a train from Reggio to Naples, but is it possible to avoid going to Naples; and go by train directly to Salerno?
From Salerno, how would we get to a hotel on the coast..possibly to Minori?

By Reggio, do you mean Reggio di Calabria? If so, all trains going from Reggio di Calabria to Naples stop in Salerno. No need to go to Naples and then backtrack. There's regular bus service from Salerno to Minori, taking about one hour.
Thank you so much for your quick response. That was the information we needed. I assume we can get a driver from Salerno train station...I don't do that well on buses.
We were thinking of staying at a vacation rental in Minori. Haven't yet decided on a place. If I have done my research correctly, it seems we can take ferries from Minori to visit other cities on the Amalfi coast?
If you have any further information or suggestions, we welcome your advice.
There is alot of talk about # of steps to get to the different villas. I assuming they are talking about flights of stairs. I am 70 , and my husband 63. In pretty good shape, but I am not athletic.
You can also take a ferry from Salerno to Minori.
Thank you ZOE. It will already be evening, and it will be late September. Do you think ferry would still be runnning?
Not sure what your concern is about steps to villas. The majority of Minori itself is flat. If you're staying in a hotel on the coast, steps shouldn't be a problem.
Ferries should run, but if not the alternative is the bus.
