I have done some research on the event and trying to decide where to attempt to see the activities. Does anyone have a "special" or secret site to observe the event? Is it necessary to "camp out" for the best sites?
P.S. I promise to keep the site secret...honest!!

Nice try. :-) Any "secret" site has long been known by the locals who attend this event in droves. We were there several years ago and were advised to find a place a couple of hours before it started, down one of the small alleys that end at the Grand Canal. But we're glad we did. It was amazing, and a great chance to people-watch all the Venetians who watch the event.
