Referrals to companies providing day trips from Florence

I am thinking of two separate day trips - one to cinque terra and the other to Tuscany. I see SO many private tour companies that I am overwhelmed with options and am hoping you have some recommendations. I know Viator is a large company and I am partial to the tried-and-true, but if there are better options, I'm all ears. Thank you!

Would also love any recommendations for food tours in Florence or cooking classes geared more towards teens - I have seen a pizza making class but all the pics are of young kids.

It is a simple train ride from Florence to La Spezia, an easy connection to one of the villages in the Cinque Terre, and then you just look around and walk or take additional trains. All that you need to know is in the Rick Steves book, cost under $20. There really isn't a need for a guide there.

For a ride into the Tuscan countryside an organised trip makes sense.

Viator is only a reseller of other companies' work. Go direct if you can.

By the way - saying you want to go to Tuscany from Florence is like saying you want to go to New York from New York City. Florence is in Tuscany, just not the rural bit. But we understand what you mean.

Could the more bookish and inquisitive of your teens read up on the Cinque Terre, with the help of Rick Steves and others, and they could become your guide there?

Try WalkAboutFlorence. They have a day trip to the CT as well as the Tuscan countryside. I've done both and had lots of fun.
