Hi, we'll be staying in Siena for a few days and want to take the local bus to Montepulciano & Pienza for a daytrip. This will be our second time to Siena. How much time do you recommend at Montepulciano vs. Pienza, and which one should we see first?

All you need is a few hours each. Which one you visit first or second doesn't matter, but if you go by bus that will probably be dictated by the bus timetable. The town that gives you the latest ride home, should be the one you visit last. Consider that Montepulciano is better connected to the rail station (from which you can return to Siena), therefore it might be a safer option to do Montepulciano for last.
