We will be flying to Palermo from Rome in May. I’m wondering what airlines others have flown and there experiences. Thanks.

Years ago I flew Alitalia Airlines round trip between Rome and Palermo. Later this year I will fly ITA Airways which is a ‘rebirth’ of Alitalia. It is also a member of the Skyteam Alliance which includes Delta Airlines.

I've also flown Alitalia (now ITA--sort of). It was fine.

I flew Vueling several years ago between Rome and Palermo. Would do it again.

We flew Ryan Airlines. I chose it over ITA because we could pay extra to carry on a regular sized suitcase. We would have had to pay to check in the same bag on ITA. The price was the same and we preferred to carry on.
