Recommended agriturismo (possibly within driving distance to Val d'Orcia)?

Choosing a few places to see and stay at in Tuscany during the limited time we have is proving to be somewhat overwhelming.. it's been easier by far to figure out where to go/stay in Venice and Rome!

Our problem is that we have very little time to spend in the area. We arrive in Florence (from CT) early evening on Thursday, and our plan is for us to stay the night there, then rent a car and drive to an argriturismo during the afternoon of the next day. Yes, I know this only gives us the evening of Thursday and morning/early afternoon of Friday for Florence. However, while we would like to explore Florence a lot more, I REALLY want to experience an agriturismo where we can try some wine (and possibly cheese?) tastings.

We'd stay 3 nights (Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, and part of Monday at this agriturismo, using it as a base to visit some of the hill towns nearby.

We then plan to spend Monday evening/overnight in Siena, and the following day (Tuesday), head to Rome for the last leg of the trip.

Does anyone have recommendations of an agriturismo that offers wine and/or cheese tastings, is in relatively close proximity (by rental car) to some nice hill towns, and won't break the bank? (hoping to keep it around the range of 100 euro per person per night)

Also, is it feasible to visit Val d'Orcia, or would it be too tight of a schedule? I just want to try photographing the area as it looks absolutely amazing in all photos I've seen so far.

Would really appreciate advice/suggestions since there are just too many options - I wish I could just spend a month there so I wouldn't have to stress out over where to allocate time!

Thanks,
NJ

There are plenty in the province of Siena or even Florence. I think over 4,000 in Tuscany.
Did you do any searches on Agriturismo.net or .it or .com?

Hi Roberto,

Yes, that's the problem we're facing - the fact that there are so many! I'm now thinking to rearrange the schedule a little, starting in Florence for 1 night, next night in Siena, and 3 nights at an agriturismo.

Going to RS's Italy book, he recommends staying around Pienza. So I'm now looking at that area.

Would you say that visiting a hilltown is a full day's activity? Or can we visit 2 in a day? Would that be too rushed?
Was thinking that staying at an agriturismo around Montalcino / Pienza and using that as a base to visit Volterra and Montepulciano... and maybe swing by Val d'Orcia? Would that be doable?

Thanks,
NJ

Edit: I'd been searching agriturismo.it, but hadn't found .com for some reason, and will check that out, thanks Robert.

Hallo, Val d'Orcia is really amazing and you have not to miss crete senesi, really one the most photographed panorama in the world! I experienced staying in a family run Agriturismo in the crete senesi region and it is really a great experience. I had an amazing wine tasting course there and a wonderful cooking lesson. I booked it thanks to Rick Steves guides. It is agriturismo il Molinello, it is in the crete senesi region, just 15 minutes by car to Val d'Orcia.

@Sophia - thank you for the agriturismo recommendation! I've looked at their website, and it looks and sounds fantastic, so I'm trying to book with them now. :)

@Henry - thanks for that link! That is quite a lot of information, not only in regards to where you went/directions, etc., but also the general driving info. That is actually something I need to work on next: getting my IDP. I will certainly be referring to your link again in the coming weeks!
