Can anyone recommend a nice, inexpensive place to stay in Monterroso al mare for 2 young women? We would love to be somewhat near the nightlife and train station. We would consider staying in someone's private home as I have read that many people do around there. We will be spending either or 3 nights there. Thanks for any suggestions!

I stay at Mueble Agavi in Monterosso; rates are reasonable and it is not far from the train station. It is across the street from the sea. As to nightlife, if there is any it would probably be in the old town which is a five-minute walk from the Agavi. I don't have their phone # handy; it is listed in Rick's books. The place has about 10 simple, clean roome; most are ensuite. They reserve by phone/fax.
