Recommendations to visit near Lake Trasimeno and Lake Bolsena?

Hi all. I have a few days between Ferrara and Rome, and want to see some towns near water - looks like Trasimeno and Bolsena might be good choices. I’m open to others - will be using the train, so near a station would be ideal. Any recommendations?
Smallish villages are what I’m looking for - places I may want to retire to in a few years. (Also looking in Liguria earlier in the trip.)
Also will be heading from Rome to Florence, so any recommendations along the coast there would be appreciated.

I am no authority on the area, but we spent a few hours in Castiglione del Lago, and it was lovely. The castle and town hall visits were nice. I heard later that there are good restaurants there, but we had a prepaid lunch at the SUPERB gourmet restaurant nearby (by car) at Avigonesi winery. That meal and winery visit were highlights of our Tuscany visit. (pricey.) There was a big town beach, which would undoubtedly have been a "Rick Steves moment", but we didn't have time or bathing suits.

The pretty if hilly town (with important art in the museum) of Cortona is nearby. I haven't been to Arezzo, but it's a major destination.

We visited Castiglione del Lago and just drove through Bolsena. The latter looked like a place where I would like to return and stay awhile.

We have stopped in Monte del Lago on Lake Trasimeno several times when in the area. Pretty views.
We also had views of the lake from our hotel when we stayed in Cortona.
