Recommendations of places to stay in Pitigliano, Montepulciano and San Gimignano

My husband and I are planning a trip for next April 2019. We will be renting a car in Orvieto and have the opportunity to spend 2 or 3 nights in these three hilltop towns and returning the car to Siena.

Our desires; good location for walking, clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower with parking for the rental car. Our budget is up to 100Euros per night. We are open minded for any accommodation that meets our criteria.

Thank you for your help

Try https://www.booking.com. Use their filters for price, parking and any other requirements. Use their map for location.

We've had very good luck with the lodgings we have used.

Near Pitigliano, we stayed at Agriturismo la Collima. It is in the country, but very beautiful with a good breakfast. The cost was about €80 for two. They also have a restaurant if you want to buy dinner. We also enjoyed visiting the free, natural hotspring at Saturina.

Also near Pitigliano, we had a wonderful stay at Locanda Ilune. Nice room, excellent breakfast, very friendly helpful hosts. We had dinner one night, which was outstanding. The price was just a little over €100, maybe 110, If you book directly with them

It is slightly above your budget, but for what you get, well worth it.
The view from the terrace is amazing and the apartment impeccable. Not dedicated parking, but the host was extremely helpful in advising where to park in town.

A lovely b&b few miles from San Gimingnano. Il Vicario, comfortable and reasonably priced. Wonderful, friendly hosts.

We loved Guardastelle just outside of the town of San Gimignano. I'm not sure what their prices are for that time of year, but it does include breakfast if you stay in the rooms (not an apartment). https://www.guardastelle.com/ This was my favorite place we stayed at during our 19 days in Italy.

RS guidebooks have several lodging recommendations for Montepulciano. I like Meuble il Riccio but have seen favorable postings for some of his other recommendations too. Do a search (use box at top of page) to see those postings. Meuble il Riccio room prices are at the top of your budget in season, but might be lower in April (ask if you contact them). Also note that breakfast is extra, but it's well worth the price.

Thank you all for your recommendations! Gerri, I have been using booking.com and TripAdvisor. I just wanted to hear from others experiences. Yesterday we booked our stay in Pitigliano at Dimor'a which I found on booking.com. It had an "exceptional" rating. Now moving on to Montepulciano.

Thanks Frank for the suggestion and search tip. Will give it a try.

We stayed in Pitigliano for two nights at an apartment very near the entrance to the town. It wasn't fancy but was clean and comfortable and in an outstanding location. https://www.booking.com/hotel/it/casa-dei-lavatoi-pitigliano.en-gb.html?aid=304142;label=gen173nr-1FCA4oggJCAlhYSAlYBHIFdXNfZ2GIAQGYAS7CAQp3aW5kb3dzIDEwyAEM2AEB6AEB-AEGkgIBeagCAw;sid=a3b93587c143b60e1591912fa67133eb;dest_id=-124957;dest_type=city;dist=0;hapos=1;hpos=1;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;srepoch=1533761803;srfid=d37f35b0c64f0feda36ac031d8de367a96f4c100X1;srpvid=e46793455d0f0275;type=total;ucfs=1&#hotelTmpl
We walked all over, including to the synagogue and some nearby Etruscan caves. In the nearest piazza was a great place for breakfast, and through the arch and up a bit was a recommended restaurant, Trattoria il Grillo. A friend of the owner led us to free streetside parking.
We drove to Sovana, visited the town and cathedral, and went to the archeological park Citta del Tufo. It was part of a week where we explored Etruscan sites (Cerveteri, Tarquinia, Civita de Bagnaregio, Orvieto, Todi). Fantastic!
