I will have two days to travel from Cinque Terre to Geneva, Switzerland. Do you have recommendations for places to visit and a town or city to spend the night in?
Torino.
Or Genova
At this point, I should ask when this is planned for. Travel between Italy and Geneva will require using a replacement bus after June 7 between Milan and Domodossola, adding time and extra changes. Based on your other post, looks like you are also going to Interlaken. So this summer, it will be easier to go to Interlaken first, then Geneva. As such, maybe Lugano would be a good stop.
If you do decide on Turin, there is a fairly fast option to Geneva by cutting through France with 2 changes via Chambery and and Culoz in 5 hours.
Thanks. I will be traveling the second week of May.
Do you recommend Turin?
Early May there is a direct train from Milan to Geneva in less than 4 1/2 hours at 8:21 am, so in that case I would pick Milan. You can get a direct train from Monterosso to Milan several times each day. Milan is worth a day or 2.
