First of all, thank you so much for all the feedback on my Amalfi Coast thread. I think we are going to forego it for Procida which I never would've known about.
Now on to suggestions when we dock in Livorno. We want countryside, maybe wine. We are in port from 8a-6p. I look forward to your recommendations.
I’m guessing that you plan to skip the Cinque Terre? You could visit nearby Forte de Marmi and Viareggio for waterfront towns.
You will be very near Lucca which I highly recommend. We spent four nights within the city walls, a wonderful experience. Rent a car and car and also visit Volterra, San Gimignano, and Siena for a very good dose of Tuscany.
@Suki thank you for the wonderful recommendations. As we only have from 8a-6p, is there one you would recommend the most? Unfortunately, my time is limited.
you could take a bus up the coast a bit to Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia and walk along the beach and get lunch. relaxing and nice
