Hi, my family and I are planning to stay in Florence for about two weeks in July and are finding it very hard to find a place for 5 adults to stay in the same residence. We would rather not stay in a hotel as they only offer 4 people maximum then we would have to get 2 hotel rooms, and prefer not to. Can anyone recommend a residence where 5 adults can stay, with a kitchen and within walking distance from the train station?
Our budget is maximum 250 per night

Have you tried Vrbo or any of the other rental sites? Friends have had good luck with getting apartments in Florence using them.

- I've stayed in a nice appartment in Florence, it was in a walking distance from the main sights. But it was just a small studio, not convenient for 5 adults.

Booking.com has lots of apartments (filter by type of accommodation). Many 2-bedrooms have a pullout sofabed but there may be some 3-bedrooms. I haven't used Garbo but they get good reviews.

I've used airbnb to find apartments in Florence with good results. Look into staying in the "Oltarno" neighborhood (the other side of the river), where you will generally get more bang for your buck. When my family came to visit me while I was studying abroad, they found a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment on Via dei Serragli that was incredibly spacious and reasonably priced. The Oltrarno may appear to be farther from main sites, but it is only a 15 minute walk to the Duomo and is an easy walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station. Additionally, the Oltrarno will give you more of an authentic neighborhood experience - there are several local trattorie and convenience stores located nearby so you can easily stock your kitchen. RS recommends many hotels in the northern part of the city, close to the Accademia, but that neighborhood has always felt more gritty to me, and I much prefer the atmosphere on the other side of the Arno.

I stayed in a place that would accommodate 5 adults: VRBO #68776. Not really walking distance to the train, but it's a great place with two bedrooms w/bath and a third bedroom with daybeds. Loved it. Last time I stayed there it was eu1400 for 7 nights. Nice little garden outside with table/chairs and bbq. Washing machine in the basement. All marble floors/counters.
