Dear Friends,
My wife and I will be travelling to Florence, Italy for four nights in early October, 2009. I would appreciate any suggestions regarding a medium priced hotel or B&B in the central Florence area. On my last visit to Florence, I stayed at Hotel Aldobrandini and was very pleased with the accommodations. The room was a single, and quite basic but comfortable, the breakfasts were good (typical for Italy) and the owner was wonderfully helpful (he took care of reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia for me).

My husband and I are staying two nights in Florence at the end of September at the Hotel Belletini. We found Florence pricing to be a bit on the higher side at that time of year, and were able to get a rate of 93 Euros per night for a highly recommended (per TripAdvisor.com) hotel. Not sure what the rates are for your dates or even if there is availability there but good luck with your search and have a great trip.

Try the Il Salotto di Firenze B & B. It is right in front of the Duomo and Baptistry. The rooms are great and well priced.
