Going to Bergamo/Brescia area in late April, looking for recommendations for places to stay. There are actually several places on the Monte Isola, an island in Lake Iseo... any experience with them?
I'll be there 3 nights, the last one probably in Bergamo proper, but I'm flexible. I likely will not have a car, if that makes any difference.

In Bergamo, I was happy with the location and value of ilsolebergamo.com; however, they do close for one whole day and night per week, which is unusual for a hotel.
In Brescia, it worked well to stay at www.corsomatteotti62.com, but it's a small B&B so you have to let them know when to expect you. For dining, I recommend www.osteriaalbianchi.it, with a warm welcome and years of family tradition. Since it was quiet, the chef even offered to photocopy recipes for me from a vintage book.
Thanks, I will check them out. I have two or three days and am pretty open about what to do and see, but Franciacorta wine may be in my future. Wondering about possible agriturismo accommodation, too.
