Planning our 7th trip to Italy. Have spent much time in Tuscany, mostly Val d'Orcia region. We have driven through and stopped in Chianti region but would like to spend a few days here next fall. Looking for hotel, B&Bs in Radda, Greve, or Castillina in Chianti. Or surrounding area. We will have a car Grazie mille.
Hi Carol,
You can be in a central location in Chianti region at the following villages: I have stayed in one of the Agriturismos in Radda. Take a look at the links below.
Radda - http://www.agriturismo-tegline.com/
Panzano - https://agriturismo-lupinati-it.book.direct/en-us
Greve - https://www.lapresura.it/en/
We had a wonderful time at Castello di Verrazzano https://www.verrazzano.com/#
It’s just outside Greve. The prices are reasonable and the rooms have a homey atmosphere. If you stay (or don’t), be sure to take their winery tour combined with a food and wine pairing. It is a day’s treat, schedule at least three hours.
When we did the pairing, the winery owner and staff were evaluating the new vintage. The owner kept bringing over samples for us to try! In addition to their wonderful wines, you’ll get their estate raised wild boar salami, their honey and their fantastic balsamic vinegar.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. It was our home for the entire week. Day trips to the region are easy and close.
I second the Vignale in Radda we stayed there years ago and loved it... beautiful grounds.
