Hello, will be traveling to Bologna at the end of September, 2025. Looking for hotel suggestions near center of town. Thank you!
Remember that the week 22-26 September there is in Bologna a huge trade fair and the most of hotels are sold out and the prices are at least double than usual.
Told that: I Portici, Majestic, Metropolitan, Touring, Phi Cappello Rosso, Corona d'Oro, Drapperie, Commercianti are all very good hotels in historical downtown, perfect for a leisure holiday.
Very expensive, very central, great art collection https://grandhotelmajestic.duetorrihotels.com/en.
Thanks so much for suggestions! Will check them out!
We recently visited Bologna, and we loved staying at Casa Bertagni. It is located in the University district. So it's not in the center. It took us about 15 minutes to walk to Piazza Maggiore. Not sure how you feel about that.
Another vote for Casa Bertagni.
Hotel Brun
Albergo Garisenda It's a family-run hotel located in the city center. It was our base for five nights as we explored Bologna and Emilia-Romagna.
Its seven rooms are modest, and its lobby and halls are charmingly appointed. You can view the famous towers of Bologna from the terrace and easily walk to major sites, including Piazza Maggiore.
The husband and wife who own Albergo Garisenda are welcoming and attentive, and their knowledge of the region and passion for the city are evident.
Yes, Casa Bertagni is a good hotel but it is very expensive
We stayed in a nice 2 bedroom Airbnb if you’d like the info. Affordable and great location.
