Hi, we are looking for suggestions for reasonably-priced accommodations in Tuscany. We will be a group of 5 or 7 (siblings & spouses), and we will have a rental car or two. We don't want to stay in Florence though we will do a day-trip there. We just want one home base while we explore Tuscany for a week. Please share any that you have had good experiences with. Thank you.
Take a look at Villa Arnilu near San Gimignano. They basically have very nice hotel rooms but rent the facility as a villa as well. We had 12 people there, but you can rent as many rooms as needed.
When are you going?
This is still my favorite place in Tuscany.
Very centrally located, great hosts, and access to both Tuscany and Umbria. Very few places are more than an hour away.
We really enjoy Palazzo Bellarmino in Montepulciano. The units are self catering apartments (1-2 bedrooms, all have kitchenettes) about a minute's walk from the Duomo at the pinnacle of the town. Parking is free if you can score a spot in the lot just down the street. VERY cost effective if splitting the apartment a 2-3 ways. Staff speaks good English and are very helpful. DH and I are booked for a return visit next month. We adore Montepulciano.
Wonderful! I look forward to checking these out. Thanks. Gerri, we are going September 2018.
And look at Cretaiole and Borgo Argenina !
