Recommendations for 10 days in Northern Italy

We will be in Northern Italy for 10 days this October, we prefer to have a home base and do day trips. We will focus our travel between Milan/Genoa/Turin. Any must stay hotel or Airbnb recommendations? Ideally we would split the trip between two 5 night stays, maybe something in the wine country and then something on the coast.

Thank you!

Outside of Turin/ Torino, look at Villa Favorita near Alba. Wonderful area.

"Must stays" are defined differently from person to person. How do you define yours? Variables include AC, breakfast, budget, number of people, elevators, mode of travel, mobility issues, view, etc.
It would help greatly if you could provide more details.
Also, you are rather late to be booking for this fall, so may not have many choices available. Safe travels!

Thank you Pat for your feedback. We are two people, no mobility issues, well travelled, we will rent a car to explore some smaller corners of this area, we generally stay in 4 or 5 star hotels but are open to Airbnb type as well.

I enjoy being able to walk to dinner or the beach, my intention here was to see if anyone had any hidden gems or favorite towns in this corner of Italy.

I am currently considering the following three areas:

Lago Maggiore
Wine region around Alba
Rapallo/Santa Margherita

Cheers,
