Recommendation for car & driver for day trips from Florence

We will be in Florence the 2nd week in December, 2017. Due to some disabled family members, using public transportation to travel on day trips out of the city is impractical.

I need some recommendations for car/driver to hire for some day trips.

Thanks in advance.

We used Simply Amalfi,
http://www.simplyamalfi.com,
who picked us up in Naples and drove us to Positano and back a week later. Don't let the name fool you, they operate in Florence as well and Katharine is wonderful and so responsive to work with. Both of the drivers were friendly, helpful and courteous. You will get a very quick response from them which was not the case for some of the services listed in Rick Steve's book.

Jane,
I can't help you with a recommendation but I wanted to let you know that we traveled to Tuscany the same week in 2015 and had a great time. The weather was moderate while we were there. There was a little frost a couple of mornings but usually it warmed up to the upper '50's or even mid '60's by the afternoon. We did have one drizzly afternoon, but it coincided with our visit to the Uffizi so it didn't impact our plans. Most days were partly cloudy but there were a couple of days of brilliant sunshine.

Everything was open. We enjoyed visiting some Christmas fairs and seeing the lovely Christmas decorations in Florence, Rome and the smaller towns.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Try Elisabetta at
[email protected]

She has a good sized Van and knows the area well.
Speaks excellent English, hard working and very reasonably priced.

She used to work for one of those large companies servicing cruise ship excursions but a year or two ago started her own company with her husband.

Six years ago, we used Florence Tour for a full day (10 hour) trip from Florence to Volterra, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, and Siena (our design). We also used them for a direct hotel transfer from Florence to Milano. The company is owned by Giuseppe and Paola Migliorini, and I believe that they are still listed in Rick's Italy Guide. All arrangements were made in advance via email; Paola corresponded promptly. Giuseppe was the driver on each of our two trips. He was friendly and helpful and his English was excellent. I would recommend that you consider them for your day trips.

We used " I just drive Italy" when we were in Florence...
