Recommendation for 4 Star+ Accommodations in Montepulciano?

My wife and I are intending on seeing Tuscany for 5-6 days in early October, and were looking for at least a 4-star accommodation in the heart of Montepulciano? We will be staying in Montepulciano for the entire 5-6 days.

We will not have a car, and therefore want to QUICKLY AND EASILY be able to walk from our hotel to restaurants, bars, etc.

Thank you for your help!

Montepulciano is very small, you’ll be able to walk everywhere if you stay in center

We loved our stay at Palazzo Carletti

Also note
“4 star” has a different meaning in Italy

How do you plan to “see” Tuscany without a car?

Choosing random Oct dates on booking.com, filtering for 4 stars and half mile from center of town , found 14 properties.

No personal experience, but you could try that as a start for your search.

Just so there are no surprises for your expectations, Montepulciano is very small and very hilly. The piazza at the top of the town is flat; otherwise, most of it is walking up or down - sometimes very steep. I stayed there for three nights and spent one of those days in nearby Pienza (by bus). If you don’t plan on having a car, there are limited options unless you have some type of tour already established.

I loved my time in Montepulciano! I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed.

Really good points Jean!
We also loved Montepulciano but have chosen to stay in Pienza (with car) when we return to Tuscany in April.
Pienza is flat.

The Locanda San Francesco is a charming hotel with seven rooms overlooking the valley, at the end of the main street; three good restaurants close by. We use booking.com, but hotels.com has pictures of each room.

Without a car, I don't see how you can "see Tuscany."

We have stayed at Camere Bella Vista near the Piazza Grande. The rooms have great views and room #6 has a very large balcony to sit and relax while enjoying the views. It was a Rick Steve recommendation and well deserved.
