Any recommendations for a hotel in Naples for 1 night. We are staying 4 nights in Rome then 4 nights in Sorrento ( hotels booked) last night we need to stay in Naples because our flight departs at 10am on the 20th. We would like to tour the Archaeological Museum on the 19th. Thinking we will take the train from Sorrento to Naples early on the 19th. Ask the hotel to keep our luggage until we can check in so we can tour the museum and take a guided walking tour of Naples. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hotel Palazzo Decumani for what Rick calls a Worthwhile Splurge. I suppose that Air Conditioning is not so important in October, but I would expect Naples to have noisy streets. I recommend a real, substantial hotel, because they will have a reliable taxi-reservation service so you can enjoy your hurried breakfast without worrying about your pickup. Just in case, download and print out the fixed-price taxi tariff sheet from the government, and ask the doorman to review with your driver that there is NO charge for luggage.
I believe Deumani operates some other hotels. Don't miss the Farnese Marbles at the museum.

We did something similar - staying our last night in Naples before a morning flight and visiting the National Archaeology museum the afternoon before. You could stay at a hotel on Via Partenope which has a pedestrian promenade near Castel d'Ovo and views of the Bay of Naples. There was a taxi rank next to our hotel and we took a taxi from the hotel to the Archaeology museum. Early the next morning we took a taxi from the taxi rank by our hotel to the airport which was fortunate, because the transfer service that we had reserved did not show up.
