Taking my 83 year old Mom to Italy in November. We'll be flying Premium Economy. I want the airline that offers the most recline. My choices are Air Canada, American Airlines, and British Airlines. The prices are not significantly different. The only difference so far is the depart and arrival times. I prefer to fly at night and arrive at night and Air Canada only has early am flights. BUT, the deciding factor will be the recline of the seats. We're not big people so we don't care much about leg room but I really struggle to sleep sitting up so I want the best recline for my money. Any suggestions?
This article might be useful: https://www.businesstraveller.com/features/which-airlines-have-the-best-premium-economy/ The recline for the seats is noted for each airline covered. The article was written in early 2018 so things could have changed.
Double check on whether the Air Canada flight is regular Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge. Rouge is a budget carrier and may not be as comfortable. The recline and amenities on American will vary depending on the age of the plane and whether it has been retrofitted.
"Rouge is a budget carrier and may not be as comfortable."
I've flown Premium Economy on both Air Canada and Rouge. The Premium Economy on Air Canada Rouge is very comfortable. I can't remember how much recline the seats had. If you need to lay down completely to sleep, then business class will be the best option but of course not the cheapest. Unless you have a large budget, some compromises will be necessary between cost and comfort.

We flew AA a 787 last October Madrid to Dallas, it was by far the best premium economy experience we’ve had, but it all depends on the plane, model, etc. How fun for you both!!!
Thanks, everyone. Great advice! I do appreciate it!
