Reasonably priced hotel in Milan - does it exist?

We are planning to be in Milan in September and need to find a not too expensive hotel with easy access to the
Duomo and other sites. Any suggestions? Hotel Berna was my first choice but they are a little steep but I guess with the rate of exchange against the euro everywhere is expensive.

Thanks,
Nadine

The problem is that you're going at the tail end of high season, so you'll mostly get their maximum prices. If you're willing to go without a bathroom in your room you can save a LOT of money. We liked Hotel Charly when we were in Milan.

We, too stayed at Hotel Charly and found it fine. Price quite reasonable, tho we stayed there in 2004

Define "not too expensive"? A little steep has no meaning.

I believe the rate at Berna was 145.00 euros a night.
I would like to stay at 100.00 - 125.00 euros.

I booked Hotel Corallo based on a friends recommendation.

Hotel Soperga near the central train station is 114 euro on Orbitz right now. It was nice for the price a few years ago.
