You could try the Laurentia which is also only a 10 minute walk to Termini. On the way to the station you walk along a 4th Century BC wall and can peek down at a fenced off portion of one of the original gates into the city.

My husband and I were in Rome in January and we stayed at Gulliver's Lodge, a B&B just a 5-minute walk from Termini Station. The owner is wonderful and extremely accomodating. He will take the time to map out what to see in Rome and how to best budget your time between attractions given the length of your stay. Also, the breakfast is wonderful and the accomodations are very secure and quiet.

My Wife and I had fun here in 2007. Be sure to explore the local neighborhood markets and resturants - its all REAL Italy. In a weird way, even though its just outside the City Walls, it is still central to every thing. This is a small, two brother operation, and a great way to meet the locals. The view, from the room, it really very nice if you face the south.

We'd definitely stay there again when in Rome.

Just got back from Rome and stayed at Hotel Paba (one of RS recommendations). Alberta was a wonderful host, great advice on restaurants all in close walking distance of the hotel, made reservations, helped with bus connections, etc. The hotel is only 7 rooms on a busy street but wonderful to be in the center of Ancient Rome. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Paba. The entrance from Via Cavour is less than favorable, but once up the elevator, all is well.
