In Rome now, with pizza on every corner. Just wondering where people have had really great pizza in Rome.
There is a most excellent pizza blog, Our Weekly Pizza, written by a regular here. https://ourweeklypizza.com/
Take her advice. No punches pulled. If she says it is good it is. If she says it isn't, it isn't.
Dar Poeta, La Pratolina, you can't go far wrong....
Thanks for the shout out, Nige!
Dar Poeta, La Pratolina, Da Remo are our three favorites and worth the trip or the wait. For La Pratolina I highly recommend a reservation.
I will third Dar Poeta in Trastevere. Also, their grilled vegetable antipasto is wonderful.

Was highly recommended by our ETBD tour guide. A dozen of went in a few groups and everyone enjoyed it.
Any place where you see no american's and only Italians
We absolutely loved
Pizzeria Da Baffetto
I thought the pizza was fantastic - service was not rude but not very friendly. Located about 150 meters off the Piazza Navona on via del Governo Vecchio. Only open for Dinner and is usually very crowded with many locals and tourists alike. Fun place with inside and outside shared tables so you will meet fellow diners, we ended up seated with another couple that was from 15 min from our home in MA and on almost the same trip done in reverse order. Very casual place and very reasonable cost for pizza and wine. They had a really cool pizza with an egg on top that I would love to have again.
We really enjoyed the pizza at Li Rioni. It is located near the Colosseum at Via Dei Santi Quattro 24. They are only open at dinner. We had a spicy salami pizza there that was really delicious!
Pinsere.
Via Flavia 98.
Small place, no real seating, I believe lunch only, but very good and very affordable. Here's their website, whose home page makes me can't wait to get back there!
I also suggest Pinsere. My husband and I just spent 2 weeks in Rome and we ate their pizza every chance we got.
It's not a sitdown place but locals and tourist alike queue up for their pizza. The crust is more like focaccia: crispy on the bottom but a little fluffy in the middle. Toppings are fresh and the price is reasonable. They do a brisk business.
Also, there is a terrific gelato place around the corner from Pinsere called I Caruso if you're craving a sweet treat afterward.
Ok, so I might get shot for this....
but during my unfruitful time in Venice, I was mad at all the food, all the prices, and all the tourists......and then I found my mecca, one of my favorite restaurants in my town of Salerno.....Rossopomodoro.....its a chain, from Naples.....I said "hallelujah!" because I knew what I would be getting, how much it would be, and knew I would be pleased (who'd have thunk it, I am an Italian food snob and I much more prefer my southern Italian food).....so I had my best meal in Venice there :)
So my favorite pizza is at the Rossopomodoro at Largo di Torre Argentina :) hahahahahahah
We enjoyed Da Bafetto. Ate there twice. The second time we were treated like family.
