Hello follow travelers,
Is it best to get a train or bus or some other form of transportation while traveling from Cantania to Syracuse/ Ortigia, Sicily?
To be honest, it depends a bit where in Catania you are starting from. Both take about the same time, buses actually are more frequent, so easier to schedule, plus they stop more places along the way than the train, so maybe more convenient.
If you have more specific information regarding where you are starting from/circumstances, then that may help.
We used a private transfer service (SicilyLife - €120) because we knew we would not want a car while in Ortigia. We were also coming off a transatlantic flight and appreciate being dropped off at our rental rather than walking or worrying about a cab. When I was planning, it looked like buses were the most recommended form of public transit. Enjoy!
