I'll be in Florence in June, and wondered how far in advance to get tickets to the Academia Gallery, and which site to use. I'd rather not take an expensive tour and see Florence from a tourbus window, but realize the value of advance purchase. Is there a website that does this for a reasonable price? Thanks for any help.

I think in Rick's Italy guidebook he discusses the fact that many hotels will make reservations for their guests just a day or two before they want to see the Accademia. There is also a museum pass that eliminates the need for appointments.

You could email your hotel and ask them to do it for you. Or search "official website" for accademia in florence and make the reservation easily
