Re: Car Rental in Tuscany (Greve & Sienna)

Two of us will be on a honeymoon in Tuscany in a few weeks. 1st time in Italy. We will be coming in to stay in Greve from Rome on a Saturday. We will be based in Greve for 3 nights. We will be leaving on the 3rd day for Lake Como. I am wondering since we plan to see the countryside and take a day-trip to Florence if it would be a good idea to take the train in from Rome to Siena, rent a car, then return it to Siena & hop on the train for Milan/Como area?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Clay,
Consider training to Florence and renting the car and returning it to the Florence airport. Siena's train service is not great. It will take 3 hours to get to Siena and only about an hour and a half to get to Florence. People have had trouble driving into Florence but most have no trouble driving out of Florence.
