re: Arco del Tomolei B&B

The Arco del Tomolei B&B gets heaps of praise from Rick's readers. Yet I just bought the 2010 edition of his "Rome" book and it is not among the recommended accommodations.
Any ideas why?

I've stayed there before and it is nice as far as B & B's go. There are a lot of them to choose from in Rome and so it's not possible for all of them to make the list, especially if Rick hasn't stayed there. The Arco dei Tolomei is highly rated on TripAdvisor.com as well as the Arco del Lauro which is on the ground floor of the same building. I've stayed at both and prefer the Arco del Lauro for the price. The Arco dei Tolomei puts out an enormous breakfast spread in a large dining room. The Arco del Lauro issues a coupon to use at the coffee bar around the corner. I found the Arco dei Tolomei a little old fashioned and dowdy for my taste. The Arco del Lauro is a little more modern and the host, Lorenza, is really great!

Just to clarify, I believe you mean "Residenza Arco dei Tolomei" in Rome. I can't answer your question but thought a correct spelling might be helpful for someone who wants to do a search.
