Ravenna to Siena

Hello fellow travelers. Looking for help planning drive from Ravenna to Siena. Hoping to see some lovely Tuscan views and towns en route. We will stay in Siena for four days so will pick up areas we’ve missed but can anybody give me some ideas about driving that route?. This is for end of October. Thanks in advance

If you take the shorter, but a bit slower route using the E45 freeway toward Perugia, then at Sansepolcro take the SS73 highway to Arezzo and eventually Siena (partially divided 4 lane highway, you can see a few nice towns along the way and some beautiful mountains.

Near Sansepolcro you can see Anghiari (just a slight detour from your route). You can see Arezzo (a small city, more than a village). And you can see Lucignano also between Arezzo and Siena.

If you want to get to Siena about 10-15 min faster (but 15 miles longer), take the whole freeway through Bologna (A14 freeway), then to Florence (freeway A1), and finally the Florence Siena freeway from the A1 Firenze Impruneta exit. There are some nice places between Florence and Siena, but you can easily visit those while in Siena.

I would take the option I described on top (via Sansepolcro-Arezzo-Lucignano), because you won't get to Anghiari from Siena otherwise, it's too long from there).

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. For the remainder of our time in Siena would you be able to suggest 1 day visiting the area that would give a nice overview. Names I’ve heard of are Chianti, Montepulciano, and Volera but I’m open to any thing you might suggest. Thank you.
