Hello, I am coming with my family of 7 adults and will be flying into bologna then getting on a cruise a few days later in Ravenna (Venice) Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay to accomodate all of us preferably with at least 3 bedrooms that would be within walking distance of the train station and places of interest. We will take the train from Bologna and again from the station to cruise port. Thank you!
We stayed in Hotel Diana, which was not far from stuff. Ravenna is a very small town, and so pretty much it's all close together. The hotel was not expensive, had a pretty decent breakfast, and had plenty of rooms. It was an easy 7 block walk from the train station.
I stay at Palazzo Bezzi every year when I go to Ravenna. It is not far from the train station and an easy walk to everything. Also a block from Basilica di Sant'Apollinare Nuovo. Plenty of food nearby also.
thanks! Do you guys think we are better off getting 3 rooms in a hotel or finding a rental airbnb or something where we are all together?
We had an excellent stay at the Albergo Capello. Huge, spacious room and bathroom, nice breakfast and wonderful staff. We walked from the station. Close to restaurants and all sights; they have their own restaurant as well. One of our best hotel experiences. Safe travels.
For me it would depend on the details of the apartment: How many bathrooms? What kind of beds? (It's common to see listings that count pull-out sofas and futons as beds, but I wouldn't want to sleep on either.)
Can you make arrangements to drop off your luggage before check-in time and leave your luggage somewhere after check-out time if you need to do so? That is nearly always possible at a hotel, but there may be no place to store luggage when you're renting an apartment.
Ravenna's great; I'm glad you're spending some time there.
We don’t usually do AirBnB, but we did in Ravenna with a group of seven. The place had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The listing was very clear about the arrangements. The child got the pull out couch in the living room. Based on our experience looking for that place, I think you’ll be hard pressed to find more spacious apartments. Apartments usually work out to be cheaper than hotels with a large group, but there is a trade off.
HK do you remember the name of the air bnb?
I’m sorry, but I don’t remember. I just scrolled through AirBnB to see if I could find it, but no luck.
We had a great stay at Club M B&B in July. It on is on the opposite side of town from the train station but close to all the mosaics and Ravenna is a relatively small town. I’m not sure how many separate rooms they have but we thought a great location, hosts and breakfast. Recommended in RS.
