Ravenna from Rome, then Anacona to Split

We are flying into Rome and would like to visit Ravenna for a few days. They we will take the Ferry to Split, Croatia from Anacona, Italy. Any suggestions. We have to fly into Rome, travel to Ravenna and Croatia and will fly back to Rome from Dubrovnik Any suggestions. We do not need a hotel but we would like to know if anyone has taken the ferry? I have the website so I can look up schedules but I would love to know if any has taken the ferry from Anacona to Split? Thanks.

I would love any suggestions regarding transportation from Rome to Ravenna to Anacona to Split and Dubrvnik and I think we are definitely flying back to Rome. Thanks so much. This is very new to us.

If you need a hotel in Ravenna, I can recommend Hotel Centrale Byron (or maybe it's Byron Centrale), or the Hotel Bisanzio. Breakfast included, elevator, good service and location.

This May we enjoyed our stay at the hotel Albergo Capello. The clerk was waiting for us at 12:30 am when a Trenitalia strike delayed our arrival by 10 hours. He was gracious and friendly, and the service and pleasant attitude continued throughout our stay. Inviting breakfast in dining room or patio, great happy hour, spacious room with large and modern bathroom. I can also recommend the Gardela Restaurant nearby. Great food, large portions, nice people. Bike rental in Ravenna could be fun. We also did a day trip by train to Ferrara. Ravenna was terrific. You might consider Italo train from Rome to Bologna, then a regional on to Ravenna. Italo was cheaper, the trains are great, and their trains were running in Rome when Trenitalia was striking. We did have to kill 8 hours in Bologna waiting for Trenitalia to resume service.

If you're still looking for a hotel in Ravenna we can recommend B&B Casa Masoli, a small family run B&B about a 5-10 min walk from the train station. Casa Masoli is in an early 18th century house so you get the true feeling of being in Ravenna. You can check it at http://en.casamasoli.it/ The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is great, and it is in walking distance to most of the sights.

Also, I had a wonderful and affordable lunch at the traditional and RS-recommended Ca' de Ven in Ravenna. No doubt great for dinner too. I loved the gnocchi with scallops, plus I had a piadina on the side. Not to even mention all the magnificent mosaics at several sites in and around Ravenna.
