Ravenna cruise port to Bologna and or Venice

Hi
Looking to get from the Ravenna cruise port to Venice. Would love to see Ravenna and perhaps Bologna prior to arriving in Venice. Does anyone have recommendations of a driver or service that could do such? Thank you in advance

Are you staying in Venice ? Where? An high speed train from Bologna to central Venice would be faster than any car. And cheaper since it's a 155 kms drive (plus 80 kms to drive from Ravenna to Bologna).

HI, yes we were thinking of staying in Venice near St. Mark's Square. Is there a train from Ravenna to Venice that you would recommend?
thanks

There are many Trenitalia departures each day from Ravenna that will get you to Venice in roughly 3 to 3-1/2 hours after one change of trains. It will generally be faster to change in Ferrara rather than Bologna, but either will work. Routings using regionale or regionale veloce trains will be less expensive than those including a Freccia train. Freccia tickets tend to escalate in cost as your travel date approaches, and the least expensive options require you to travel on a specific train; regionale ticket prices do not change, so there's no need to buy the tickets ahead of time--thus no worry about when you'll be ready to step on a train.

The trip via Ferrara will cost 15.75 euros if you stick to regionale trains. Traveling through Bologna (without stopping there to sightsee) will cost 20.30 on regionale trains. Separate tickets Ravenna-Bologna and Bologna-Venice will cost a bit more.

There have been positive comments on this forum about the company MyDayTrip (https://mydaytrip.com/), which provides transportation between cities. Taking the train would be less expensive.

Thank you
I did check the mydaytrip but they do not have anything listed for July yet.
The train doesn't sound terrible :)
Thanks again

If I were you, I'd find on cruisecritic.com a driver to go from Ravenna to Bologna station, one that will carry your suitcases to the underground departure tracks used by high speed trains.

I'd also avoid St Mark's square like the plague, but that's a matter of personal tastes.

Both competing railway companies run trains between Bologna and Venice. The railway schedules will be updated on December 11, 2022 and on June 12, 2023.
