We are planning to visit these two gorgeous villas, along with the town of Ravello, and I am trying to decide if it's recommended to purchase entrance tickets in advance (online)? Do the tickets ever sell out? Where would we buy them on the day we decide to visit? How long are the lines?
Also, for some reason, I can't see how to buy tickets on the https://villarufolo.com/ site, it seems not working (archived?), but that's the one marked as "official" on Google maps and the Internet. I'll check later, but what are the other options for buying tickets (we don't need a tour)?
Thank you to everyone for your responses!
I went in April, the lines were short, maybe a couple of minutes. Each villa has a ticket booth manned by one person, I didn’t see anything in either of them about separate lines for people with pre-purchased tickets. Villa Rufolo accepts the Campania Card.
Thank you for the reply, Marco!
I actually ended up emailing to Villa Cimbrone, and here is their reply (in case someone may find it helpful):
We are pleased to inform you that Villa Cimbrone Gardens are open all year round from 9:00am to sunset. At the moment, the last entrance is at 7:30pm and closure time at 8:00pm.
We suggest contacting us closer to the date to check the opening hours and any extraordinary closure or other restriction.
It is not necessary the reservation and the entrance ticket can be paid directly on spot. The entrance fee at the Villa is of EUR 10,00 per person.
They are forbidden the introduction and the use of drones and professional photo/video cameras/equipments/tools. Photo/Video shooting sessions are not allowed without our authorization.
Villa Cimbrone is located approx. 15-minute walking only from the center and cannot be reached by car / motorbike. In the village there are some public car parks: Duomo Parking, Auditorium Parking or there are spaces for motorcycles in Via della Repubblica.
