Ravello 3-night stay, pop to Ischia or Praiano?

iIm really trying to limit activities from this beautiful spot. I'm sure everyone has their ideas....I need some advice about this: I am interested in Going to (perhaps) Ischia for the day or Praiano. So these seem the most interesting or even just Sorrento, just trying to get outside the box here. (Capri seems too touristy to me,and I"ve been there even though it has been years.)

I heard that there is a watch tower with a studio artist living there in Praiano..............Torre a More, is that worth a trip?

I've also heard that Ischia is fabulous....if we went there for the day, what should we plan to do that would be out of the ordinary interesting? I'm assuming we could take a ferry.....

Hint, we really like art, and not necessarily old churches. Scenery at the top of the list too. Food, wine. Want to maximize our time without doing too much. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There is not much to Praiano. It is a small residential village, in two parts, strung along the main coast road which has no real centre as such. Why not take a look at it on Google streetview?

Ischia is a large island with a variety of places to visit/things to do. However, it will take some time to get there ie bus to Amalfi then bus to Sorrento in time to catch the morning ferry

This very helpful site covers what to do when you get there.

Nobody pops anywhere from Ravello, it's isolated up on a hill. I understand there are some beautiful hiking trails in that area, hiking shoes needed. How about walking down to Amalfi and riding back after lunch or dinner?

Hike down to Atrani for a visit before taking the bus into Minori....these are fun tiny villages to explore along the coast.

Amalfi itself is a beautiful town after the tourists leave at night - a great place for a dinner and walk along the waterfront.

And go to the Green Lagoon or go to the beach at Furore and then take the bus into Positano for dinner and drinks on the beach.

Hey Carla, when you say Green Lagoon, is that what our driver showed us as The Green Grotto? Little boat in a cave?

Yes ! We have never been, but I have it in my "to do" notes.

Is it correctly called a Grotto instead of Lagoon ?
