Rapid COVID testing site in Rome airport, or advice on pharmacies for rapid testing

I’m on my last day of a wonderful trip through Italy, and I am wondering if anyone has experience with the Covid testing site at the airport? I’m a little bit nervous because my flight leaves at 9:45 AM, and I have a confirmation Email from the testing site, but no hours indicating when they open or how far before my flight leaves that I should get there. Alternatively, has anyone found a pharmacy in Rome offering rapid testing that I could go to today, and if so a general location would be awesome and much appreciated.

Since we will be staying in the Trastevere, I checked out that area, the Pharmacy not too far up via Trastevere from the bridge has a tent set up for testing, and on Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is another Pharmacy with a tent set up.

I decided waitng until my departure was risky, in town, just stop by, test, and get results in a couple hours. At the airport, you have to allow some amount of time for testing before check-in...I would rather sit and have a caffe and pastry in the Piazza.

Paul, that’s perfect since I’m staying in Trastevere also. Thank you so much!

Hello,

We are will also be in Italy next week. Out hotel in Trastevere provided me this information:

In Italy you can have your covid test (swab) in most of the pharmacies. You do not need to reserve for it just going there and they will do the sampling and give the result in 15/20 minutes. Among the many others, there is a pharmacy at 2 minutes of walking distance from the hotel (Farmacia Trastevere – Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere) that makes this service and provides you with the results in a few minutes.

If you are willing, could you post your experience with testing? It would be a help to me, and I am sure others on here.

An addition: If you want a suggestion for a place to hang out, just out one street leading out of Piazza Santa Maria, is a small opening, Piazza San Calisto, and on that Bar San Calisto. We have gone there over the years for a cheap beer or drink, coffee a few times. It is almost all locals, sometimes hard to get a table outside, but a slice of Italy. It gained 15 minutes of fame as Stanley Tucci filmed a bit there for his Rome episode of Searching for Italy.

Thank you for the hangout recommendation!
I was able to have my Covid test done at a cute pharmacy in the Centro, Farmacia Celestini, Via dei Banchi Vecchi 24. It was very simple and fast, and cost 22€. They emailed the results within 30 minutes.
