Rainy day options - CT & Venice

Looking for rainy day exceptions - just in case - for Cinque Terre & Venice. We have three nights in each place.

Venice is perfectly fine on rainy days. It doesn't rain inside churches, palaces, museums or bars/restaurants. The Vaporetti are covered too. Just carry an umbrella for walking on the 'calli'.
There isn't much to do at the Cinque Terre on a rainy day. I hope you plan to stay in Monterosso, where at least you have a slightly wider choice of restaurants and bars. Certainly however on a rainy day hiking and sunbathing on the beach are out. You could take a train to Genoa and see one of the ugliest cities in Italy (but still not too bad compared to some cities I've seen in America). They have a couple of things that are worth seeing, including the largest aquarium in the EU (and 9th largest in the world).

You could also take a train to Pisa or Lucca, which are not too far and are prettier than Genoa.

La Spezia is a short ride from the CT and you can shop, eat farinata, and visit the lively covered market in the morning. There's also a great Naval Museum, the Lia Museum (ethnographic), and a couple of others. If it's raining only intermittently take the boat to Portovenere which is handsome when wet.
