Railway workers' protests victimizing tourists in Italy

We bought a train ticket from Naples to Sorrento and went there and now there is a protest and we cannot go back. What can we do? This situation, which puts tourists in a difficult situation, happens very often, unfortunately.

Ferry, bus, or hire a car service. But I hardly think the disruption was aimed at victimizing tourists. Pretty sure the trains don't carry only tourists.

You are referring to a commuter train used by locals to get to and from work and home.
You are not a victim.

Ferry would work IF you're not needing to get out of Sorrento TODAY (June 25). The last one from Sorrento> Naples left at 5:00 (17:00) PM. It's possible that the protest is for a limited time; are you still in Sorrento?

Agree that rail snags inconvenience many more than just tourists. It's difficult for locals who use the service to get to work, appointments, etc. PLUS have to deal with the high-season mob of tourists.

I can't find anything on the EAV website about a rail delay.
