RailEurope tickets on line

I will be traveling to Italy for the first time this May and have a Eurail Italy Pass Saver. I have been unsuccessful in reserving seats using the Trenitalia site even though it's now 60 days before my trip. The shopping cart is still not in the column and the NO is. I was wondering if anyone with a Eurail Pass Saver has reserved seats using the RailEurope Site. The fares are ok but I'm just unsure since it isn't the official site mentioned in this Forum. Also, it routes us through Milan instead of via Prato and Viareggio as originally planned. Thanks again for all of your help!

You can't "reserve" just seats on the Trenitalia site...it's only for ticket purchasing. If the "No" still shows, chances are at least one leg of the trip is a regional train, where reservations aren't accepted anyway. RailEurope is OK but expensive. You could call Trenitalia to make the reservations, 011-39-06-684-754-75. Do it ASAP, since reservations set aside for Eurail passholders are limited.

I purchased a 3 country Select Saver pass and purchased tickets from Paris to Bern at the same time. You don't mention where you are traveling in Italy

Thank you for your replies. We are traveling from Venice to CT. CT to Florence and then Florence to Rome. After contacting Trenitalia directly by phone they informed me that it was a combination of American credit card and seat only reservation that was causing my problem. I was finally successful in obtaining seat reservations on two legs of our trip through a travel agency. Thanks again! This site has been VERY helpful in planning our trip!!
