rail passes

I have 3 tips via rail to do while in Italy. Form Milan to Florence and back and from Milan to Venice. I am debating if I need a rail pass. I have gone on line to figure out how much it costs for a eurail pass but want to know if I make a reservation on line with trenitalia does that include a reserved seat. Last time we were in Italy I had a eurail pass and had to make reservations for seat separately and pay the additional cost. Do the reservations on line include the reserve seat cost and do you think it is necessary to make reservations now for sept or do them while in Italy when we arrive at the train station. Grazie

The cost on the trenitalia site includes the seat reservation, you don't pay more for it. If you book tickets now you can take advantage of reduced rates. These tickets have very strict change policies so make sure of your travel dates and times. Donna
