Hi all, It looks like during the next few months the Vatican is open for tours during the evening from 7-11 p.m. The website calls visiting then "extraordinary." Can anyone say why this might be better? Or should we just go during the day. The same rates apply. Thank you!

It's less crowded at night than during the day. Also in the summer it's not quite as hot. That being said, not all the rooms are open at night so if there are specific things you wish to see I would check to make sure they're open if you plan the night visit. Donna
