Quieter parts of Trastevere?

We would really love to stay in Trastevere - love the older look + draping greenery - but are hoping to be on a quieter street. Where are the calmer or more "Italian" parts? Should we be over more by the river and Cecilia or more over by Janiculum hill? We will need to be in an apartment as we are a group of 6 (3 adults, 3 children). Want to be there but hopefully still be near a bridge for easier access back into Campo Fiori or the Jewish Ghetto.

Grazie!

Look for apartments with the bedroom windows that open onto an interior courtyard, as opposed to out onto the street. You should be able to find something fairly near Ponte Sisto.

The rowdiest parts of TV are along the Via della Lungaretta, Viale di Trastevere and around Piazza Santa Maria in TV as well as Piazza Trilussa. Use Google Maps Streetview to look around any place you are considering. Avoid busy streets with car and vespa traffic. Look for small side streets. The area around Piazza San Cosimato is fairly quiet along the side streets but may be farther south than you want.

Do take foam ear plugs with you just in case. Happy travels. (I love Trastevere.)
