My wife and I are going to be in Rome for about 5 days for the first time and don't have much to spend. We intend to spend a couple of days enjoying Rome but want a couple of days of quiet in an Italian ambiance (small town or rural) preferably near the sea, within a half day's travel by bus from Rome. We prefer not fancy, just clean. Any suggestions?

Maybe Lake Albano? It's where the Pope's summer residence is (Castel Gandolfo) and is a popular destination in the summer. More info at http://www.italiantourism.com/lakes10.html
