Is it worth it to hire private transportation from Ravenna cruise port (which includes water taxi to hotel in Venice) or just take cruise shuttle to city center and then hire water taxi? Trying to get to Venice as quickly as possible since we have a very short stay there…thank you!

Do you mean Ravenna? Confused by your reference to water taxi.
If so, Taxi to the station and train to Venice (2.5 hours) would be fastest.

We just did this at the end of May. We took the bus transfer from the cruise ship at Ravenna to Venice. (arranged with the cruise ship) The bus dropped us off at Tronchetto about 11am if I remember correctly.. Super easy. Once we arrived at Tronchetto, we got a private water taxi to our stop on the Grand Canal. In our case, Gigilio. It was a short walk to our hotel. We happened to arrive on a day there was a strike going on so the public transportation was not an option. Everyone had to take a private water taxi (it was busy!) and they only accepted cash for payment. We were checked into our hotel by 1pm that day so we had a full day the first day. We absolutely loved Venice and well worth the effort to get there. Enjoy!

When you arrive at Isola Nova del Tronchetto, do you have to get on the people mover to get to where the water taxis are?
Our hotel said they would help us arrange for a water taxi but said we need to provide the exact address!🥴

Be aware that water taxis are metered and very expensive. Venice airport to the city is ~140e and you can see the airport from city. I would confirm a price on the private transfer before agreeing to book one. If they are offering a driver to the city from Ravenna and water taxi to the hotel I would suspect pricing starts at 500e.
I'd get a firm price and then compare that to the cruise ship offered transfer. Whether that's "worth it" over the bus and vaporetto option to save maybe an hour is up to you. You could always grab a water taxi yourself once you are in Venice for 40e - 100e depending on time and distance if you simply want the experience. Or take a 9.5e vaporetto ride.
