Trying to figure out how to get from Rome to Civita. Is the only way to take the train from Rome to Orevieto, then bus to Bagnoregio? Just seems like I would be going too far north, then backtracking on a hour long bus ride... if there is a quicker way, I'd love to hear about it! I tried to look up bus schedules at http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/, but couldn't figure out how to get the English translation :) Anyone have any suggesions for that? Or a better website? Thanks in advance.
We were on a two week road trip... We drove from Locanda Rosetti where we stayed three days.
Civita is everything RS says it is - and then some. I fell in love with everything and everyone there.
Figure out how - and then GO!!!
Easiest way -if you are not driving, is to take the train to Viterbo then blue, local ACOTRAL bus to Civita...its another 15 kms.
The ACOTRAL bus should have a website. Its quite a long haul for a day trip . Viterbo itself is more impt. to see than Civita.
Let me know if you have any other questions about N. Lazio-its my home.
