Quickest, Cheapest way to travel from Florence to Sorrento

The best way is to take the direct train from Florence-Santa Maria Novella train station to Naples. One leaves at 8:52am and stops once in Rome and then Naples. Another leaves at 10:52am. This is a 3hr 20min journey. Standard fares for 3 (all over 12yrs) is 174euro. The Eurostars are the fastest but they are also the most expensive.

At Naples, you need to change to the Circumvesuviana train line for the journey to Sorrento. Or, you can take a hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento if its running.

Larry's suggestion is what we did last October. We did the EuroStar then the Circumvesuviana. Try and buy tickets as soon as you are sure of your date/time to get the 20% discount offered by Amica fares.

I believe that you can ask for the 20% discount Amica fare up to midnight before your train departs.
