Quick Rome Tours

I have an 8 hour stopover with my wife and 4 kids on Monday morning. I was hoping to get a taxi to see the Coliseum, Arch of Titus and get lunch in the Jewish Quarter. if we have a few minutes, I'd hope over to the Fountains. What's the best and most economical way to do this?

I might help us to know where you will be arriving from and where you are traveling to.

However I would think a private limo service would be an option for a group of your sized. They could pick you up in a properly sized vehicle and get you on the road the fastest, get you quickly driven by your many sights and then get you back in plenty of time before you 2nd flight.

Have a look at the Great Synagogue, and look at the plaque on the wall on a building near the Portico d'Ottavia; it marks the deportation of the Jews of Roma in 1944.

Nona Betta is good for lunch, Roman kosher.

Zoe has a good plan. Have a taxi give you a whirlwind drive past the monuments and drop you in the at Nonna Betta. If there's time after lunch, you can ask a return taxi to take you past more monuments/fountains.

FCO is out of town by 1/2 hr by car, if you are lucky and there is no traffic. It will be one to two hours to get to and from the airport to Central Rome and you need to be at the airport 2 hrs before your flight so you have about, so on the conservative option is that you have about 4 hrs in Rome (assuming all goes well with transportation and check in). There are old ruins near Nona Betta and you can look at but I would recommend just having lunch. Nona Betta is VERY good having just had lunch there this past October. Enjoy
