Quick question about reservations for Borghese Gallery and Roma pass

Hello,

We're currently in Cinque Terre. Our train reservations for tomorrow morning have us arriving in Roma Termini at 14:33 and our Borghese gallery reservations are for 15:00. Is is possible to get there on Bus #910 in time? Any advice? I've read in your guide hat the entry times are specific. What if we're late 10-15 min? Should we even try?
I assume we can check our carry on luggage in bag check at the gallery.

Roma Pass question: So if we arrive Sat afternoon and buy the 3 day pass and activate it on Sunday for metro use for use through Tues can we use the pass to get discounts on Sun and Mon but use the free entry on Tues at the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine hill and the National Museum of Rome? Or do you have to use the free entries on the first couple of museums? I'm thinking we will be in such a hurry to get to the Borghese gallery reseration that we won't want to buy the Roma Pass until Sunday.

It's a 19 minute walk and bus from Termini to the Borghese on the 360 bus.
It's a 7-14 minute cab ride.

Traveler experience suggests that you have a window to get in, but that any tardiness will not delay eviction at the end of your two hour slot.

The Borghese was my first European museum, on my first day in Europe. I was astonished by the collection and the beauty of the building. It was love. I remember seeing my first Caravaggio there that struck me, and it's become a bit of a "pokemon" obsession to visit them all (Why wasn't it Vermeer... so much easier with someone less prolific). But I don't remember much specific about it. I was jetlagged to hell, inexperienced traveler, not as into art then as now. And yet, love that place. And yet, I think if you are brisk, you can miss 10-15 minutes of your two hours.

I think you should look at whether your train reservation or your museum reservation would be changeable or worth paying to replace.

If you're not on time for the Borghese reservation and they have other people waiting who want to buy your time slot, then I believe they will re-sell the no-shows. See http://www.ticketone.it/obj/media/IT-eventim/pdf/en/galleria-borghese-5-en.pdf, which encourages advance check-in and mentions cancellation. If nobody else wanted your spot, then you might be able to enter late but would still have to exit within the original two-hour time limit.

For two people with luggage and a tight deadline, I'd take a taxi to the Borghese and expect to pay about 10 euros.

Free entry with the Roma Pass is only on the first two attractions visited. You may be better off buying regular tickets.

Is it possible to take an earlier train?

As far as I know, it's recommended to arrive 30 minutes prior to your reserved time in order to pick up your tickets.

Also, I'm not sure you will be able to leave your luggage at the gallery.

The Roma Pass entitles you free entrance to the first 2 museums or sites of your choice.

Assuming you are departing from CT on the CT Express and connecting with an IC train at La Spezzia,

Might be a good idea to see if you could upgrade that to the Regionale 24453 and get on the FrecciaArgento at LaSpezzia. This would depart CT 2 hours earlier, get you to Rome 4 hours earlier, at a cost of E4.40 extra per passenger, assuming you are traveling 2nd.

Because I love that museum (and want to see it when I'm fully awake) and because I'd be concerned about losing my slot entirely, this seems like a better idea. Also, because I'd trade 4 hours in Rome for 2 hours in CT. And I love a FAST train.

The gallery starts selling unclaimed slots 30 minutes prior to entry. If you show up late your slots may well have been sold out from under you. If they are not sold you will have what ever time is left of your two hour window to enjoy the gallery. At the end of the two hour window everyone is ushered out to make room for the next group.

For the romapass, no, the first two sites you visit are the free ones. There is no way around this. If you decide to use the pass on Tuesday for reduced admission to the colosseum you'll wait in the regular ticket line to get the reduced price tickets.

Thank you all. I ended up calling to see if I could change my reservation and they did let me move it to Tues afternoon.
Thanks again.
