Quick Itinerary check please.

Full disclosure: This is for april 1 to 17. I like packed itineraries and this isnt including all the little random things to see along the way ( for instance, trevi, Forum Boarum and the like). I also like train trips. Ive already been to Italy and saw a decent amount of things in Rome (vatican/st peters, pantheon, capitoline, colosseum, and a bunch of smaller things that will take too long to list) yes there are some do overs, but thats because I want to see them again.

Just want some feedback on things I might be missing, suggestions for day trips and the like. Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

Mainly, there are half days ( the 2nd in Rome and 4rth in Naples) which I kind of plan to just walk around and get used to it again. But I do like having SOME sort of a goal in mind. I like historical easter eggs. The 11th is open and will be my last day in Naples and I either want to do a day trip (cause im me) so maybe Salerno/Amalfi area or somewhere a bit more off the beaten path. But since I wont be in Naples itself very much Im thinking I should stay there and take in the city. For me its a tough call. At least I will be doing multiple day trips from Naples as it is. The day slotted for Herculaneum, I know the site is rather small and even with transit to and from Naples I probably wont be gone more than 6 hours and am kinda hoping to see some things around the town.

The 15th and 16th i will be back in Rome and REALLy want to do some day trips. A friend suggested Orvieto. I was thinking Bologna (yes 2.5 hours one way is nothing for me, especially utilizing an early train). But there are tons of options from Rome. I was also thinking of using one day as a catch up day in case things go sideways and only doing one day trip. However that choice is very hard for me. I love day trips and both Orvieto and Bologna offer a LOT.

When you go to Ostia, have a wander around the area near the Piramide/Roma Porta San Paola Stations and see Monte Testaccio, a trash pile over 100 ft high made from broken amphora used to ship oil to Rome over 2000 years ago, also the Pyramid of Cestius bordering the Protestant Cemetry and the Porta Ostiense, part of the Aurelian Walls. Quite an interesting, small, museum here.

Have you visited San Clemente? Beautiful church where stairs to the basement take you to Ancient Rome
- atmospheric.

The last trip I did ostia, and took a look at the walls and pyramid. But i didn't get a chance to see tostaccio or the neat jewish graveyard thats there.

Somehow I missed half of ostia so plan on fixing that mistake. Also the museum wasn't open.
