I land at 9AM and am looking at a train to Monterosso at 2. Do I have enough time to hit the cathedral and galleria via the metro?

John, Possibly, but you probably won't arrive at Milano Centrale until 10:30 or so. You would need to allow time to take your luggage to the Bag check and then retrieve it on the way back. The Left Luggage office sometimes has long queues, which could be an issue. After a long international flight, my preference would be to get to Monterosso quickly, so I wouldn't be waiting until 14:00. Happy travels!
